Claudia Copeland



Welcome to a great 2020- 2021 school year! My name is Claudia Copeland, and I have the wonderful pleasure of teaching your child English Language Arts for 6th grade. I have 13- years of experience in special education and language arts. I have a graduate degree in mental health counseling with an emphasis in adolescent mental health. I would describe myself as one who has high expectations, and I pride myself in pushing students meet their full potentials. 
This year we will focus on writing narratives, arguments, and informational essays. Students will be challenged to express their ideas and support them with relevant evidence and reasons. In grammar, the focus will be on pronouns. However, students need a strong foundation in all parts of speech taught in previous grades. 

I look forward to witnessing your child grow. It takes a village!
