Outreach/Support to Parents of English Learners

Each Local Education Agency (LEA) receiving Title I, Part A funds shall implement an effective means of outreach to parents of English learners to inform parents regarding how the parents can:
  1. be involved in the education of their children; and
  2. be active participants in assisting their children to -

(aa) attain English proficiency
(bb) achieve at high levels within a well-rounded education; and
(cc) meet the challenging State academic standards expected of all students.

The Title I schools in Douglas County meet this requirement during the Annual Title I meetings held at each school. Another way that we support the parents and families of English learners is providing access to WIDA's webinar series for families of multilingual learners in grade K-12.
