Welcome Back!

What a wonderful time of year for our students, parents and Turner faculty and staff. Overall, our goal is to increase our students' academic performance. We have high expectations for our students. We will push them to be and do more than they imagine. We plan on accomplishing that goal by attending to the academic as well as the social and emotional needs of our students. Our aim is to create an environment where our students truly feel supported and nurtured. We are convinced that as adults, school staff and parents, students thrive when we work in concert in setting and maintaining expectations. To that end parents, I invite you to fully participate in the education of your children. We want you involved in the ways that you feel you can contribute. Where we can support you in areas where you may not feel as comfortable, please tell us how we can support you in advancing the success of your child.

In regards to instruction, our goal is to increase student engagement and rigor in their classes. We want to help build students who embrace the challenge of thinking critically to solve problems as well as to create community-minded citizens. We want to provide opportunities to give our students voice. Through those means, we expect that our students will perform better than they have in the past. Those are lofty ideals, but we believe that nothing is impossible through a collective effort among students, parents and TMS faculty and staff - One Team: TEAM DOUGLAS!

We will continue to urge our students on toward continued excellence in Academics, Arts, Athletics and Service to the Community. Below are a few accomplishments that are reflective of accomplishments in Academics, Arts, Athletics and Service to the Community.
